Generally, yes, your church will accept this program. Since its introduction in 2010, this online marriage prep class has exploded in popularity among engaged couples, priests, deacons and family life ministers. Thousands of couples have used this program from throughout the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Singapore, Africa, Japan… the list continues to grow!
Ultimately, your priest or deacon decides which marriage preparation programs you can use. Chances are, he is already familiar with this program. If not, here are some highlights he would be interested to know:
- The course was granted an imprimatur in 2011 by the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Chicago (more details here), providing absolute assurance that this program’s contents are in line with Catholic teaching.
- Featured as a marriage preparation resource on the foryourmarriage.org website, an initiative of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

The length of time to complete the program varies from couple to couple. Some couples choose to work through it in a weekend, some take a month to finish. The total amount of time is about 8 hours.
This program is available to you online, on-demand. Once you register, you have immediate access to the entire course. Since the program is available on-demand, it is up to you to schedule time to work through each segment.
After you complete each of the required elements (videos and exercises), you will receive a Certificate of Completion to present to your priest or deacon.
This online marriage preparation program is the ideal solution for engaged Catholic couples that are separated by distance. Once you register for the course, simply share the login details (password and email address) that you chose when registering. This way, both of you can access the program anytime, anywhere.
Many couples use free, online communication services like Skype or Google Talk to work through the program “together,” even using video for actual face-to-face engagement! Work through the course one segment at a time or in blocks as your schedules and interest permit.
Once you complete all of the required elements, you will receive a Certificate of Completion to present to your church. Your access to the course remains open for a full year, so you may revisit topics as you wish throughout your first year of marriage.
Yes, you will receive a Certificate of Completion when you finish the course. Your certificate will show both of your names and the date that you completed the program.
The certificate is provided to you as a PDF document. This makes it easy for you to forward via email or print it to take to your priest or deacon.
The registration fee is $195 USD. The cost is the same for individuals and for couples.

- Log in to your account and go to ‘My Gradebook’
- Click on ‘View Grades’ for the Catholic Marriage Prep Class
- Scroll to the bottom and find the ‘Download Certificate’ link.
- Click the link and your certificate will download to your computer.
Have you been able to try to watch it from a different computer or internet connection, say at work or a friends? Most of the time, the issue lies in a slow internet connection.
You can go to catholicmarriageprepclass.com/etc/speedtest to test your download speeds. Usually, anything below 2Mbps will cause slow and laggy videos with constant buffering.
